Hamilton Summer Workshop
Join ACT YOUTH THEATRE for a fun and exciting week-long Hamilton Workshop, inspired by Lin-Manuel Miranda's hit Broadway musical, Hamilton.
For 12-18 Years
Learn to perform some of the well-known songs, become some of your favourite characters, and work on dance choreography based on the show.
After writing the hit musical In the Heights, composer and lyricist, Lin-Manuel Miranda went on to write the book, lyrics and music for Hamilton, which opened in 2015 and has taken the world by storm. With elements of rap, hip-hop, R&B and pop, it’s a fresh take on musical theatre.
The days will start with group games and a physical warm-up, followed by a vocal warm-up. You will then learn songs from the show developing your sense of rhythm as we delve into the rap and R&B musical styles; you will have the opportunity to choreograph your own dance pieces as well as learn dance choreography inspired by the show incorporating hip-hop and street alongside contemporary dance; and we will work on developing characters through various drama activities.
